A paper cut is temporary.

If you buy it you're crazy.

A paper cut can be avoided.
If you watch The L Word finale there is no way you are not going to get pissed off.

A paper is usually a mistake.
We all watched the finale on purpose.
Even after the first seven episodes of the season tanked.

The L Word...What Kind of "Jacked Up" Crap Was That?

The L Word series finale. I can't believe they aired that Jacked up mess.The only good thing I can find about the L Word finale were the Dorothy Surrenders posts (I adore this chick). Here's my contribution.

The L Word Finale was so bad...

There is now a petition going around asking ilene to stop calling herself a lesbian.
The DVD will come with a warning label that says: Warning this show may cause you to throw up.
An angry mob of gym teachers are threatening to burn down ilene's house.
When Ilene dies and arrives at the golden gates St. Peter will say, "Damn! What were you thinking!"
It was so bad each DVD will come with crack to help you get through it.
It was so bad Showtime has been fined and Lesbians are no longer allowed on American television.
Ilene's kids are banned from taking gym classes.
It was so bad 40% of the lesbians in LA are now straight.

My notes about that crap they called television:

How horrified were the cast when they saw those extreme close ups?
Poor Elizabeth Berkeley. First Showgirls now this. :(
The poor cast. Can you imagine trying to get another gig with that on your resume.
It was a setup to get fans to ask for an LWord movie.
Someone feed Kate Moenning. She looks like a crackhead.
Rose Rollins. I never thought I'd say this BUT thank God She only had two scenes in that mess.

L Word. Okay, Just Make Everyone Mad.

It takes "talent" to piss off everybody. I mean to make all your fans mad that takes some work. I was reading the "Ask Ilene" page on twitter and found a lot of people angry about the current L Word season.

I've always been upset about how The L Word handles women of color on the show, but DAMN. It seems they have pissed off everyone this year. When I say everyone I mean the trans gender community, tibetters, Latinas, people with disabilities...everyone. Who's next? tall people, short people, fat people? My guess? Children, senior citizens, or animals. Maybe Tasha (Rose Rollins) will kick a dog before the season is out. Okay, I understand being "cutting edge", but how smart is it to piss off your fan base? What about your future projects? Well, I'm still going to watch. Maybe some animal rights activist will throw pig's blood on Ilene.

The project is called," The Black Season." The project is centered
around all of the Black Characters and Co-Writer/Director/producer of
the L Word. That's right! QBC will be highlighting ALL of the
Black/women of color in the series.

Unlike others, our event is FREE and open to the public.

Wasn't it the movie star that killed the screenwriter in that movie?

Sunset Blvd Plot summary (IMDB)

In Hollywood of the 50's, the obscure screenplay writer Joe Gillis is not able to sell his work to the studios, is full of debts and is thinking in returning to his hometown to work in an office. While trying to escape from his creditors, he has a flat tire and parks his car in a decadent mansion in Sunset Boulevard. He meets the owner and former silent-movie star Norma Desmond, who lives alone wit her butler and driver Max von Mayerling. Norma is demented and believes she will return to the cinema industry, and is protected and isolated from the world by Max, who was his director and husband in the past and still loves her. Norma proposes Joe to move to the mansion and help her in writing a screenplay for her comeback to the cinema, and the small-time writer becomes her lover and gigolo. When Joe falls in love for the young writer Betty Schaefer, Norma becomes jealous and completely insane and her madness leads to a tragic end.

Crack Killed Jenny - Part 1

I have to admit I’m not real excited about The L Word’s whole "who killed Jenny" “thing”. Maybe it is a tribute to the movie Sunset Blvd (one of my favorite movies of all time) but I am a little “cautious” about the whole thing.

I am willing to give it a shot though so here it is my best Private investigator routine.

Crack is Wack.

I have come to the conclusion that Jenny died of an accidental overdose. Why? Why not? The whole “Who shot Jenny” idea is so absurd why not the solution.

Just the Facts. What We Know.

There are plenty of motives.
Love and money are always the biggest.
We assumed the killer is still present after Jenny’s body was discovered, but would you stay at the scene of a crime knowing you would have to answer questions?

Questions That Need to be Answered.

What was the actual cause of death? We know she was found in the pool, but did she drown?
Was she killed there or was the body dumped there?
Was it premeditated? Did the killer plan it? I don’t think so. There are too many potential witnesses. It had to be an accident or just not planned.
Who found the body? That's the chief suspect, right? Shane was wet and dating the victim (motive).
Who has alibis? That would allow us to narrow down the list of suspects. If Bette and Tina never left each others side neither one could have done it.

We need more clues. More evidence. Are there any forensics? Maybe some DNA? Okay, my fellow P.Is got anything you would like to add?

The L Word Season 6 - Production Notes

Ever since THE L WORD® exploded six years ago into living rooms across the country, Showtime Networks’ landmark series has continued to take center stage in the hearts and minds of legions of fans. The groundbreaking series has become a pop culture icon that has put its indelible stamp on the political/social and entertainment landscape as it has brought the lesbian community into the fold of mainstream’s consciousness – eliciting controversy, pride, empowerment and conversation.

On Sunday, January 18 at 9 PM ET/PT, THE L WORD® begins its sixth and final season on SHOWTIME. For creator, writer and executive producer Ilene Chaiken, the direction and goal of the series has always been very clearly defined to provide the lesbian community a voice and sense of place in society at large.

“We set out to tell good stories, to entertain and to aspire to the same success that anyone else hopes for who is making a primetime television show,” says Chaiken. “In that journey, we found how the show became incredibly meaningful to a great many lesbians around the country and all over the world – to be represented in popular culture, to be represented as glamorous, as sexual, as affluent, as intelligent, as educated, as interesting, as romantic, as all of the things that heterosexual people have had role models for.”

As in previous seasons, THE L WORD® revolves around the lives of a tight-knit group of women living in Los Angeles, women who are all trying to navigate and learn from where life and love takes them. In its sixth and final season, if there has been any shift in tone from previous seasons, it may be that within eight episodes, the writers were able to capture and deliver the intimacy that fans may feel reminiscent of the pilot. Chaiken acknowledges the special relationship that the show has had with its fans. “We knew we were doing a final season and that was a real gift from SHOWTIME since a lot of times you are never given that opportunity, so we really thought carefully about what we wanted to say and how we wanted to go out,” says Chaiken. “We wanted to tell a story in which there was a real sense of ‘on-goingness’ because we wanted the audience to feel that these characters will live on beyond the show. I would say the biggest difference between Season 1 and Season 6 is that in this last season, we never stopped thinking about the integral conversation that we are having with the fans of the show and the world at large. They have an impact on us and we wanted to keep reflecting that dynamic.”

Rewarding fans this season is the highly anticipated reconciliation between Bette (Jennifer Beals) and Tina (Laurel Holloman), an intense relationship that has been as turbulent and troubled as it has been loving and nurturing. “It was really important to us to get it right,” exclaims Beals. “Getting the depth of that reconnection between Bette and Tina was everything and we really wanted to honor the fans who have been so passionate about Bette and Tina and who have waited so long to see if they would get back together. For many of the show’s devotees, Bette and Tina’s relationship hit a deep emotional chord and the characters became the quintessential couple that everyone rallied around and looked up to.”

Actor Rachel Shelley, who plays Helena Peabody, understands the appeal, “It has to be Bette and Tina, their relationship with all the ups and downs, their love for each other and the undeniable chemistry between them.” she contends. “Everybody can see they are meant to be together – they really were the orbit that the rest of us all revolved around. I think in real life we look to those kinds of relationships because they make you optimistic, because when you’ve met your soul mate, you’re meant to be together and that is Bette and Tina.”

As in previous seasons, humor and drama envelops the core cast of characters. Alice (Leisha Hailey) and Tasha (Rose Rollins) test the boundaries and frailties of love; Jenny’s (Mia Kirshner) tangled web of complexities unravels which leads to her ultimate demise; Shane (Katherine Moennig) tries to change her life-long behavior of breaking hearts; Max (Daniela Sea) comes face to face with parenthood; while Kit (Pam Grier) and Helena (Rachel Shelley) forge a new friendship that transcends their business venture.

Striking a balance between the serious elements of the larger political and social storylines that the show tackles and the comedic situations can be tough. But just as much emotional investment came into play knowing that this was the final season. THE L WORD® will deliver what is bound to be one of the most memorable scenes to date – one where Alice (Leisha Hailey) heads up a dance marathon to benefit the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center. With each character teaming up with a partner to perform specific dance routines from past eras, the cast quickly discovered they had an appetite for strutting their stuff.

Hailey, as with all the cast, says the dance numbers are high on everyone’s “Top Ten List” of favorite L WORD® moments. “Alice throws a giant party where it’s a twelve-hour, stay up as long as you can, dancing competition and all of us dress up in costumes to match our routines. Soon after we started practicing in front of each other on set, all of a sudden there was all this whispering going on like, ‘Oh my God, have you seen Jennifer and Laurel? They are so good!’ The last two days before we started shooting the episode, we all became seriously competitive and it became incredibly funny.”

Rising to the challenge of learning the samba with Holloman, Beals says the rigors of daily rehearsals with the choreographer was soon outweighed by the magic of the getting the steps right and being totally in the groove. “It’s one of my most favorite episodes of the whole six years and it was nothing short of hilarious,” says Beals. “Some of these girls can really dance and I think we all started thinking about taking up dancing careers because we all loved it so much. [Series guest star] Marlee Matlin of course pulled the rug out from under us, as she’s phenomenal. It was so much fun to watch everybody practice their dances and to see how deep they got into it.”

Just as in real life, THE L WORD® has proven that art does imitate life more often than not. After six years of being together, the real life experiences of the core cast sometimes spilled over into their characters’ story arcs and vice versa with marriages, deaths, births, break-ups and falling in love all being part of the experiences.

Katherine Moennig, who plays heartthrob Shane, feels that THE L WORD® resonated with audiences because of the closeness that developed between the cast members, who many times lived next door to each other. “The chemistry that fans picked up on between these characters is reflective of our relationships off-set because we became really close friends,” she says. “That camaraderie isn’t fake and it transferred onto the screen. What’s cool is that our friendships happened very organically – six months of the year we were on location in Vancouver, so we really depended on each other a lot as we didn’t have family and friends from home around.”

THE L WORD® is undoubtedly a history-making endeavor that has broken down barriers and put another few thousand cracks in the glass ceiling. Chaiken shares her feelings on being behind the helm of one of television’s most successful shows. “This show has been a huge piece of me because it consumes your life, but THE L WORD® has been more meaningful than it might have otherwise been because of the numbers of people who have come to us to tell us that the show has made a positive difference in their lives. It’s been a big job, a consuming job, an exhausting job but it’s also been the most gratifying experience that a writer or creator could ever want.”

Pam Grier who plays Kit Porter, Bette’s half-sister, feels that it’s been very humbling and special to be part of something that is much bigger and broader than just another television show. “I think all of us feel so honored to have been a part of something that will go on and continue to influence generations and is recognized as a pop culture icon,” Grier says. “THE L WORD® really is an exploration of relationships and it hopefully opened people’s hearts and eyes up to what really matters in life and that is the way you love someone unconditionally and in turn are loved for yourself. I have learned so much from being involved in this show and I’ve met friends for life – I am so much better informed than I was when I came on to do the pilot so it’s had a huge impact on me personally, as well as professionally.”

Rose Lam, executive producer for THE L WORD’s® whole six-year run, says it’s those Sunday night “L WORD® parties” and conversations around the dinner table that she finds the most rewarding part of the journey. “I’m so thankful that I’ve been involved in a show that has brought people together,” says Lam. “Whether it’s my husband and I talking to our young sons at dinner about what does ‘gay’ mean or all those fans [gay and straight] that get together on Sundays to watch the show. THE L WORD® has provided a platform for dialogue and that’s incredibly exciting.”

Just as THE L WORD® tackled serious issues such as breast cancer, the Army’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and transgender surgery, the show also hit a huge note in the fashion world. By the second season, THE L WORD® became synonymous with the term “Lesbian Chic.” Costumer designer Cynthia Summers feels that the series tore down old stereotypes and exposed the fashion world to a new and affluent consumer, as well as offering style tips to a new generation of lesbians. “It’s so great and unique when you get to work on a long-running series because you get the time to offer different things to audiences. Obviously there are political/cultural reasons why some people watch the show, then there are others that love the humor and drama of our characters and other viewers want to see what the girls are wearing this week.”

As the characters evolved and matured, so did their fashion sense and, as Summers explains with some characters, fashion became an integral part of self-expression and empowerment. “I think in Season 2 we started to challenge the way lesbians think they should look or a need to look a certain way to be identified as a lesbian,” she reveals. “We brought all of those views to the table and said ‘Okay, let’s take this and run with it.’ Instead of dressing Bette as the stereotype butch professional, we thought of showcasing other possibilities because there’s a whole world out there of professional lesbians that are dressed to the nines. First of all, Bette is a woman and why not bring in some masculine and feminine aspects into the way she dresses? So Jennifer Beals’ character gave the ‘power suit’ a whole new meaning.”

Beals says that there is at least one piece of wardrobe that holds special nostalgia for her: “The white suit from the pilot will always live in my memory. “That suit was the first send off to Bette’s suit-land and those wonderful cufflinks will stay dear to my heart. All the clothes were really gorgeous, but that suit really was a defining look.”

However bitter sweet the cast may feel about wrapping up six years together, there is one thing they are eagerly looking forward to and that is buying up all the pieces of wardrobe that they’ve had their eyes on all season. “Oh my God, the clothes!” gushes Grier. “At the end of every season, we all make a beeline to Cynthia’s office to see what we can buy up so one way or the other, my character, Kit, is always with me and she’s had some wild outfits over the years!”

When the pink curtain finally closes on one of television’s most groundbreaking series, one that permeated America’s cultural narrative, Holloman sums up the sentiments of all those who felt privileged to be part of this extraordinary experience. “I get blown away when I think of how far this show has gone around the world, how many people have been affected by the stories we’ve told. THE L WORD® has been my life for six years and the ‘L’ word means a lot of things for different people, but for me it’s LOVE – it has always been and will always continue to be about love!”

I don't know what to think. Something is off. I can't put my finger on it though. Maybe I can't really get into the Dylan and Helena thing because I didn't start watching The L Word until Rose got on the show. Heck, Rachel Shelley wasn't in half of season five.

Maybe it's Jenny acting crazy and giving everyone a reason to want to hurt her. Hell, two minutes into the scene I wanted to hurt her.

Maybe that whole "talice threesome" thing is freaking me out. Usually, I'm all for Rose (Rollins) in sexually charged situations, but this? Maybe it's just me. I am a southern born, bible belt raised (shy) woman so maybe I just can't get into that third wheel crush business. Maybe you like it and that's how you roll. If so go ahead with "your bad self".
I don't think it's sexy. Not sexy at all.

Maybe it's all those fancy new camera tricks? You go ahead Ilene with your bad self.

I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but something about season six of "The L Word" is off. Someone dying, threesomes, drag queens, Salt & Pepa, and Xena.

It's time for the SAG awards. Check out Showtime's campaign. Showtime's campaign box contained these DVDs:

Notice something? "The L Word" DVDs don't include the "Don't Ask, Don't tell" episodes. Not one. Nothing. That means not one if Rose's big scenes.

No "I didn't decide to be a lesbian" scene.
No, "They went to see Alice." Scene.
Nothing.

Why did one of season five's biggest storylines all of a sudden get throw under the bus?! I guess "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is no longer important. All that big talk about supporting gay troops was just what...talk? What? Is it no longer cool? Taking a page from Grey's Anatomy?

Here's a reminder of what the SAG Nomination committee won't see.

Nominations will be announced Dec. 18.

I decided to do my own "L Word" promo breakdown. One that (in my opinion) puts together the best part of the promos. Rose Rollins.

Beautiful.

How surprised were you to see Rose in that dress?
No, it's not very "Tasha" like, but really. Who cares. She looks hot.
That leather strap was a nice touch.

I don't know what to make of the following SheWired report. I wasn't an OurChart.com fan (I'm in love with AfterEllen.com) but it was a great source of information on all things L Word. What do you think? Is the following story true? Will you miss OurChart.com?

I'm not a Tibetter. I'm Tasha Patrol, baby! I'm a soldier in Rose's army...all day every day. So even I was surprised how much I really liked this video of Laurel Hollowman (Tina) and Jennifer Beals (Bette) at the UK "L Word" Convention. It's really touching.

Watching this I understand even more what Rose Rollins told me at Women's Event 11. Rose explained that the characters "really meant a lot to us (the cast)". It's nice to know the characters and experience "The L Word" gave us also meant a lot to the actors who play them. Enjoy.

Betting on "The L Word". Five Predictions.

I’m not a gambler. The thought of losing my money “for the fun of it” gives me a headache. I am willing to make a few…um…predictions for the sixth and final season of “The L Word”. Here they are:

Rose Rollins will look good. That’s a safe bet because Rose always looks good. Really, really good.
There will be some fantastic acting from all the cast. Again, I’m playing it safe. The characters made the show. Why? The really talented cast. (Yes, Jenny is crazy, but Mia Kirshner rocked that role.) I’m willing to bet since it is the final season everyone will be pulling out all the stops.
Someone will die, but it won’t be Rose Rollins. Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but why drive myself crazy. I’m not spending the entire season in a panic and paranoid.
Some fans will get pissed off. It’s bound to happen. This is “The L Word” I'm writing about. Again a safe bet.
Eight episodes will not be enough. I don’t care what anyone says. Saying goodbye is going to suck. We loved it; we hated it, and even loved to hate it.

What’s a sure thing? After six seasons of making us laugh, cry, yell, and scream “The L Word” will end. Gone forever will be: Tasha Williams, that really HOT “Talice” chemistry, and Rose’s sexy “Tasha” swagger.
Damn, I’m starting to get that headache anyway.

My Prop 8 Post - "We Shall Overscome"

It just got a whole lot harder to play a black, lesbian on television. Pam'sHouseBlend.com has done a outstanding job reporting on "the Prop 8 Blame Game". California Gays blaming what it seems like is everyone (with a big focus on blacks) for losing the right to marry.

First, gays are blaming Blacks. Why you all of a sudden want to blame people that make up only about 7% of the California population I don't know. Why frustration would bring you to use the N - bomb during a protest I don't know, but it happened. We now have a black president. That sort of thing doesn't help the cause or make people want to support gay marriage. It reminded me a whole lot a McClain Rally. No, wait McClain rallies didn't almost turn violent.

Why gays would target a Mormon temple I don't know. Gays lose rights so they attack minorities and religious groups? It just doesn't make sense to me. If any group wants equal rights this is not the way to do it. Fighting and name calling doesn't help anyone. I got four words for gay protesters. The Civil Rights Movement. Try peaceful protests. How about singing "We Shall Overcome"? It's worked before.

I wonder what an black, actress (who happens to be straight) that plays a lesbian, that just finished fighting the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy would think about all this. I wonder what those protesters who used that n-word would think about her. The real victims? Gay people who also happen to be black. If you didn't feel out of place before just wait.

If we want gay marriage we are all going to have to work together.

Meeting Rose Rollins - Part Three

This is it. The final in a series. Rose and I had a few minutes to talk before dinner was served. Here's the questions I asked.

"I know you can't talk a lot about the season, but are you pleased with how it ends for Tasha?"
She said that's a hard question to answer without giving something away. "Everyone was very protective of their characters myself included." The characters meant a lot to us, so we wanted to be true to them. She added, "This was it". It was my last time to tell Tasha’s story so that’s a really hard question to answer.

Are your fans going to be happy?
She laughed and said, "You can't please everyone." “The L Word” will do what it has always done. Tell good entertaining stories, be controversial, and leave the fans wanting more.

Are you ready to leave “The L Word” behind?
Rose said, “I'm going to miss it of course, but it's time to move on. It's time.”

Personally, you have made a lot of changes in regards to your representation.
Rose laughed and said, "Yeah I cleaned house." She has hired a new management company, a new entertainment lawyer...everyone is new. She said, "I'm ready to move forward."

Someone tells Rose the live auction will be in 3 minutes. She tells them okay. We talk for about a minute more before she stands, hugs me, and runs into the dining room.

After Dinner

After dinner Rose and the rest of the cast had to film the “L Word” promo. I decided to wait around. I had some desert and chatted with my new buddies from Tibette.com & L-Word.com (What up, chicks!).

While we sat there Ilene Chaiken walked by and said, “Goodnight ladies.” (Which shocked the hell out of me.) All night people were killing themselves to say something to her and she says goodnight to a few fans? It was really cool of her.
Finally, Rose comes out of the filming looking really, really tired. Despite her obvious fatigue she took a picture with one of the auction winners (she was the only cast member to do so).
She then hugged me again and said, “It was so nice to finally meet you, Grey.” “It’s about time, huh?” We both laugh.

What did I take away from the evening?

Lesbian Love Fest – It was a great event for a great cause. If you get the chance to go next year do it. Also, support The Center. They are doing great things.
Ilene Chaiken is hot. I can’t even believe I typed that last sentence, but she must be working out or something.
Rose is Stunning. Everyone says Rose is even more beautiful in person and to tell the Truth I didn’t believe them. I was totally not prepared for just how incredibly beautiful she actually is in person.
Stephanie Gibbons (Executive Vice President of Marketing and On-Air Promotions, FX) and Lisa Sherman (Executive Vice President and General Manager, Logo.) are the Sh*t. I came away from the event being in total awe of these two incredible women.
Rose is a beautiful person. I watched Rose interact with fans. She hugged them, took pictures with them, and joked and laughed with them. She never talked down to anyone, refused a request, or was anything but kind and respectful. Watching her I was so, so proud.

I will admit I just hit the highlights for this post. There are somethings I'm going to keep for myself, but if you have any questions…ask.

Meeting Rose Rollins - Part Two

Here's part two of my first face to face with Rose Rollins. It's important to note here that at this point my heart is beating fast, I'm light-headed, and I feel like I might puke.
You may be wondering what I'm thinking at this point? What's the first thing to go through my head? God, she is gorgeous.

We “Chat”
Rose and I "chatted" a little as she was approached by fans asking for autographs and wanting to say hello. Here are a few highlights.

We talked about Philly. She said it was fun.
I asked her if she like doing public appearances. She said she likes meeting the fans, but doesn't like being put on the spot. Fans ask a lot of questions that she can't answer. She explained that the cast is not allowed to discuss the upcoming season right now so it sort of puts her on the spot when asked certain questions.
She asked me about my mom (That's another story). I was shocked she remembered.
Fans loved telling her how beautiful she was. I started to wonder if it meant anything to her anymore after hearing to so often. I swear in one 15-minute period a half a dozen people walked up to her and told her she was beautiful. Each and every time Rose was polite and gracious.

Fan Questions

Besides the photo requests and "beautiful" comments fans did ask questions.

Are you going to be in the spin-off? Rose: Leisha is starring in the spinoff.
So you are not going to be in it? Or guest star? Rose: I didn't say that.
What about that Salt & Pepa photo? Rose: How did that get out? Grey?! She points at me. I said, "Someone sent it to me, Rose." Rose did say that it was the most fun she had on the set and everyone took it very seriously. People were warming up and stretching. She added, I will say "Salt & Pepa" tears it up.
Was there any government backlash over the "Don't Ask, Don't tell storyline? Rose: actually no. None that I know of.
Are you as tough as your character? Rose: Actually, yes. I grew up with five brothers.

After a while they asked everyone to move into the dining room. Rose only had a few more minutes before she had to go help out with the live auction. Rose said, "Let's move over here so you can ask me some questions." She motioned to a sofa. As the guests moved in to the dining room Rose and I talked.

I was finally able to meet Rose Rollins November 1st in New York City after almost a year since first talking to her on the phone. While trying to write about my experience I realized it was going to be a very long, boring post. Since I don’t do long and boring I’m breaking it up into parts. Here’s part one.

Texting Madness

I sent Rose a text message asking if we could meet during the time she was in New York.
She returned my text. It said she wouldn't have a lot of time while in New York and asked if I would like to attend the Women's event 11.
Rose said someone will be emailing me with the details.
We exchanged a couple more text messages. Later, Lindsey Webster emailed me information about the event per Rose's request.

Paparazzi Mode

I got to the venue a few minutes before the event and there were already a ton of people there.
I took out my camera and started taking a few shots (Just call me paparazzi).
Grace Moon from OurChart.com & Velvet Park was there interviewing and charming everyone.
Ilene Chaiken & Pam Grier were talking to reporters, taking pictures, and looking sexy
Then a black SUV drove up
Rose got out of the SUV, looked at me, and smiled.
How did Rose know what I looked like? Back in January Rose and I made a deal. She said she would send me a photo to post on the blog if I sent her a photo so she would know who she was talking too.
Right away Rose got caught up in the press machine. People were calling her name and sticking a microphone or camera in her face.

The Social Superstar

I decided to wait for Rose inside at the social mixer. I'm standing against the wall taking pictures.
I suddenly get a text message. It's from Rose. It said, "Where R U?"
Just then Rose walks in with her attractive "entourage". People are walking up to her asking for pictures and asking her questions. She keeps looking over at me. Finally, she and her friends walk over to the bar.
I walk over and tap her on the shoulder. She turns to Lindsey (Big Ups to Lindsey) who is standing beside her. Lindsey points at me. Rose turns to me and says, "Hey! Didn't you see me try to make eye contact with you? Why didn't you come over?" I said, "You were busy". She said, "Stop it! You are so shy." I said, "Yeah, I know." She smiled. I almost faint.

Women's Event 11 - A Slideshow

I started my birthday celebration a little early last week and now I'm paying for it. My Rose Rollins mini interview post, and my "finally meeting Rose" post are coming. I promise. Right now I'm a little behind and its taking longer than I thought it would. I have no excuse (is partying an excuse?), but I do think it's worth the wait. I also have tons of photos to share.

The L Word in Philly event to benefit the Women's Programs and Services at Mazzoni Center has added new cast members.

Rachel Shelley and Daniela Sea, have both signed on to attend the October 30th event. Shelley and Sea will join cast mates Jennifer Beals and Rose Rollins as well as the show's creator and Executive Producer Ilene Chaiken. One other cast member will be announced soon. Check the Mazzoni Center's Website.

This event is sold out, but I'm sure we'll get some pictures.

Okay, what the hell is going on? Waiting for the final season of "The L Word" is driving me insane. Now all this craziness with episode seven of season six?

All of a sudden Tasha and Alice are Salt & Pepa. The cast is going gangster. There are… Dance Routines? What the hell is going on? Season six is already a mystery with a plethora of guest stars and someone getting pregnant. Now it’s become a cross between American Idol and Soul Train?

Don’t even get me started about that “crime scene” rumored to be in the season finale. I refuse to believe the hype or the possibility that something could happen to "my Tasha", but that’s a totally different post. The suspense of it all is driving me to consume large amounts of chocolate chip ice cream (I don’t drink).

Mercy. Ilene Chaiken should show some mercy by giving fans a scene, a promo, casts interviews… something. Anything.

Yes, episode six looks like a winner. Just please... no break dancing or large gold chains.

That board is sharply divided, with a newly-elected Hollywood moderate group, coupled with their New York and regional allies, having a razor-thin margin of control. But that faction, Unite for Strength, may not be united on the issue of strike authorization. They ran on a platform of merger with AFTRA, and didn't address how they'd approach negotiations."

Colorado actress Pam Grier hears a frog symphony — in her new movie “Ladies of the House” and at her simple spread near Colorado Springs.

She’s currently shooting “The L Word” in Canada — and she called in to explain what the heck a frog symphony is.

“You go out to the swamp and listen to the frogs. It’s a metaphor for finding a place that takes you away from the harshness and coldness and pain of life. It gives you a comfort zone.”

"The L Word" - The Guest List Continues to Grow

Okay, the list of guests for the sixth and final season of the L Word is growing and growing. The newest additional is Lucy Lawless. Yep, Xena herself. Xena AND the L Word...sounds like some sort of lesbian wet dream does it not?

Lets run down the list so far...

Janina Gavankar, The L Word's "Papi". I am so glad she's back. Those L Word disappearing acts get on my nerves. If Helena disappears again I'm writing a letter.

Mei Melancon, the first Asian cast by the L Word. What the hell took them so long?
She's hot, right?

Rockmond Dunbar will be playing a drag queen. The brother has got guts if nothing else.

"Elizabeth Berkley Utters the L Word" Berkley, the real life pal of Jennifer Beals will no doubt heat things up.

Guinevere Turner Is back. Ten bucks says she screws over "Talice". I am a fan of Ms. Turner though, so I am glad to see her included in the last season.

Hmm...should be an interesting season.
I like the diversity (finally caught on, huh). It only took five seasons.
Still, it will either be the best season yet or incredibly stupid.
